Indigenous Culture Courses

The purpose of Northern Studies is to create capable northern people.  Being capable involves developing traditional skills and knowledge as well as developing the skills and understanding needed to navigate in the 21st century world.  Northern Studies will encourage students to engage in community life and discussions which include a multitude of perspectives and connect students with community experts.  Students will explore five modules in Northern Studies, each worth 20% of their semester grade.  The modules are: Northern Identity, Colonization, Northern Economy, Living Together, and a Practicum component.
